<br />WATER' SOURCES <br />The only water resources involved will be groundwater which under- <br />lies the project arcaa, and it will be necessary to lower the <br />groundwater table sufficiently to permit sand and gravel extrac- <br />tion operations. <br />To accomplish lowering the groundwater table, a stilling basin <br />and electric pumpin€; station will be established at the Southeast <br />corner of the project area. Groundwater will be disposed of by <br />pumping it into the adjacent Arthur Ditch. Contractual arrange- <br />ments have been made with the Arthur Ditch Company to use its <br />facilities, including Gilkinson drain, for groundwater disposal. <br />Request for an NPDES permit to discharge this groundwater was <br />filed with Colorado Department of Health, Water Quality Control <br />Division, on 19 February 1980 and is still in process at time of <br />filing this application. <br />
