This report regazds a site on the Platte River near Ft. Lupton in Weld
County, Colorado (Section 24, Township 2 South, Range 67 West).
The Service has developed species-specific guidelines and a reporting format for evaluation of
potential Preble's habitat. While your submittal does not conform to the Preble's survey
guidelines, the Service has made the determination that Preble's habitat is not present within the
subject azea. Thus, the Service concludes that development or other actions on this site should not
dsectly affect the continued existence of Preble's. Should Preble's populations exist downstream
from the site, actions on the site that result in sigriificant modification of Preble's habitat
downstream (for example, through alteration of existing flow regimes, or sedimentation) maybe
subject to provisions of the ESA.
If the Service can be of further assistance, please contact Peter Plage of my staff at (303) 275-2370.
Sincerel
Gf/ ~~~-
LeRoy ~Cazlson
Colorado Field Supervisor
cc: U.S. Army COE, Littleton, CO
Reading file
Project file
Plage
Reference:Peter/PMIM/ 1999.136
