1.0 INTRODUCTION
This document summarizes the design of the concrete retaining wall to create a
sedimentation pond for the II West Coal Refuse Facility at the Elk Creek Mine near
Somerset, Colorado. This work was done for Oxbow Mining, LLC (OMLLC). The
retaining wall design, detailed in this document, includes the analysis and design of a new
retaining structure to retain the sediment at the toe of the proposed coal refuse facility.
