i <br /> <br />1 Roads will not be used if climatic conditions are such that usage may cause <br />degradation of water quality. <br />Upon completion of drilling operations, light use roads shall be closed to traffic and <br />natural drainage patterns restored. All drill sites and access roads will be graded, <br />topsoil replaced and revegeta ted according to 4.15.3(1) and (2). <br />Seeding and planting will be conducted after all drill operations have finished and the <br />areas are scarified, plowed, or ripped. When necessary, any disturbed area will be <br />seeded as practicable with temporary cover until permanent vegetation is established. <br />Peabody will utilize seed and/or seedlings genotypically adapted to the area. The <br />following species and broadcast seeding rates are as follows: <br />GRASSES SEED/LB. <br />(N) *Slender Wheatgrass 6#/Acre 318,000/lb. <br />(N) *Western Wheatgrass 8 220,000/ib. <br />.' Smooth Brome 8 272,000/1 b. <br />Russian Wi ldrye 4 350,000/lb. <br /> 26#/Acre <br />The above seeds and rates were suggested by Peabody's Seneca II Mine Reclamation Manager. <br />Mulching will not be done because of the very small disturbance area and the high winds <br />which occur in the area. <br />Threatened and Endangered Species <br />See Exhibit "D". <br />Method of Plugainc Holes <br />Immediately after the completion of each exploration location, the hole Hill be backfilled <br />with dry granular bentonite. An "Octaplug" will be set at the ten-foot depth, and the <br />remaining seven feet will be cemented to within three foot of the surface; the remaining <br />three feet to be filled with drill cuttings or soil. <br /> <br />Method of Reclamation <br />All trails and existing roads will be used to the fullest extent. <br />2 <br />
