BANTA, Dlreotor
DATE: January 4, 1989
T0: Susan Mowry d~
FROM: Tim King
Peabody has recently submitted a Dri11 Hole Abandonment report for Notice of
Intent X-88-168-22, consisting of 148 drill holes, All sealing and plugging
work for these holes has been completed according to the plan approved by the
Division; generally, filling the hole from bottom to top using cement and
plugging the top.
The original Notice of Intent provided for 166 holes. The remaining 18 holes,
9 of which will be monitor wells, will be drilled in late spring or early
summer of 1989.
Also, this Notice of Intent provides for an additional 3,1 miles of Tight-use
roads as access to these 166 holes. It is unclear if reclamation activities
for these roads is to wait until all of the holes are drilled, or if the drill
holes and associated roads are toTie reclaimed together. No determination can
be made as to road reclamation until Peabody responds to my inquiry, which has
been sent to them on the above date,
2327E/scg
215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
