Examples of noneropland areas include, but arc no[ limited m railroad,
utiWy, pipeline and highway rights-of--way, mihoad crossings, utility plant sites,
petroleum tank fortes, pumping rnstallations, non-agricultural fence rows, storage
areas, non-irrigation ditchbanks, prairie sites, eiryons, industrial turf, golf courses,
recreational and ndn-residential turf and other simrlar areas. PLATEAU herbicide
may be used for We release of bermudagrats, bahiagmss, smooW bromcgrass,
whcatgsass, "wildtype" common Kcnmcky bluegrass, native pmiriegmss, wild-
flowers, crown vetch, older grasses and ecrtain Icguines. PLATEAU herbicide can
also be used for weed control during We establishmrnt of native pmiriegmsscs and
other grasses (see "REVEGETATION WITH PRABUEGRASSES AND OTHER
FORAGE GRASSES" section).
PLATEAU herbicide k readily absorbed Through leaves, stems, and roots and is
translocated rapidly throughout We plant, wild accumulation in We meris[emetic
regions. Treated plants stop Growing soon after spiny application. Chlorosis ap-
pearsfirst in We newest ]eaves, and necrosis spu de from d stomne o snsrnwbich
the herbicide is lmnslocared inm, and ki0s, rgr g t8
prevents regrowth. Chlorosis and tissue necrosis may not be apparent in some
plant species for several weeks after application. Complete kill of plants may
not occur for several weeks after application. Adequate soil moisture is impor-
tant for optimum PLATEAU herbicide activity. When adequate soil moisture is
pmsrnt, PLATEAU herbicide will provide residual control of susceptible gertni-
natingweeds. Activity on established weeds will depend on We weed species and
rooting depW. PLATEAU herbicide is minfast one hour after application.
PLATEAU herbicide will contra] annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf
weeds and vine species. PLATEAU herbicide unll.providc residual control of
labeled weeds which germinate in We treated area. Certain brash species and
omamenmis may be injured by direct application of PLATEAU herbicide to
Weir foliage. This product may be applied either proemcrgencc or posmmergence
m the weeds. However, postemergence applicanon is We method of chmce in
most situations, particularly for perennial species. For maximum activity, weeds
should be growing vigorously at [he time of postemergrnce apppplications and
We spiny solution should include en adjuvant (see "SPRAY ADNVANTS FOR
POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATIONS" section). These soludoas may be applied
as a broadcast or as a spot treatment using backpack, or ground equipment
Database and format copyright ©bv Vance Communication Corp.
PLATEAU herbicide may be applied in We dormant or growing season for weed
COntrOL
Tolerance of desimbie grass species to PLATEAU herbicide may be reduced
when grosses am stressed~due to rnscc[ damage, disease, environmenml conditions,
shade, poorly drained soils or other causes.
Depending on the turf type being treated, some yellowing of turf may occur
wish applications during the growing season. Depending on weather conditions,
yellowing will usually disappwr m 2 m 4 weeks.
PLATEAU herbicide should not be applied to newly seeded or sprigged gross
P nRpIRIEGRASSES AND50THER OtRAGEI GRASSESV Sectio )T10N WT1•H
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Fill the spiny Tank one-half [o [litre-quarters full with clean water. Use a Calibrated
measuring device [o measure We required amount of PLATEAU herbicide. Add
PLATEAU herbicide m We spiny tank while agitatng. Fill the remainder of the
tank with water.
For postemergrnce applications, add a surfactant to the spiny tank (see "SPRAY
ADRNANTS FOR POSTEMERGENCE APPLSCATIONS" section of this label
for specific recommrndations). Mainmin agitation while spraying to ensure e
uniform Spiny mixture. An antitoaming agent may be added [o the tank if needed.
When tank-mixing PLATEAU herbicide with recommended herbicides, add wet-
table ptmdcrs, dispersible granules or other dry formulations first, then EC's, then
PLATEAU herbicid0. and then an adjuvant
SPRAYING INSTRUCTIONS
DO NOT apply during windy or gusty conditions unless appEcadons arc being
made with a drill control agent andloc an enclosed or shielded spray system. DO
NOT apply if rainfall is threatening. Rainfall within 1 hour after PLATEAU
herbicide application may reduce weed control.
GROUND APPLICATIONS:
Uniformly apply witb properly calibrated ground equipment in 2 or more galons
of water per acre. Applrcabon equipmenS specia0y desigted m make low volume
application should be used when making applicaaoas using Tess Wan 10 gallons
of water per acre. A spiny pressure of 20 m 40 psi is recommended.
To achieve acceptable control of We target vegemtion, good spiny coverage of
the weed foliage (postemergrnce) or soil surface (prcemergence) rs required. 70
achieve good spiny coverage We sprayer must be calibrated to deliver We recom-
mende8 spiny volume and pressure and adjust the spiny boom height m ensum
proper coverage of weed foliage or soil surface (according to the manufacmrw''s
recommendation). Avoid overlaps when spmyrng.
SPOT TRBATMENTS:
7o prepare the spiny solution, thoroughly mix in water 025 to 1.5% (0.3 m
1.9 oz/gallon water) PLATEAU herbicide plus en adjuvant (sec "SPRAY AD-
NVANTS FOR POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATIONS" section). A methylated
seed oil at I%v/v is the recommended spiny adjuvant exCeptwhen treating seedling
pmiriegrasses and wildflowers. See section on desired Species and do not exceed
We rccommrnded PLATEAU rate per acre. Also see "WEEDS CONTROLLED"
and "SPECIAL WEED CONTROL" sections for specific rote and/or rank-mix
recommendations.
AERIAL APPLICATION:
fill precautions should be mken m minimize or eliminate spray drill Fixed wing
aircraft and heliwpters can be used to apply PLATEAU herbicide, however, when
making applications by fixed wing airemfl maintain appropriate buffer woes m
'~ proven[ spiny drift out of We target arcs. Aerial equipment designed m minimize
spiny drift such as a heliwpter equipped wild a MICROFOILr" boom, m THRU-
VALVE"' boom oc raindrop nozzles, must be used and calibrated. Except when
applying wild a MICROFOR. boom, a drift control agent may be added at the
recommended label rote. To avoid drift, applications should not be made during
inversion conditions, when winds arc gusty, or under any other conditions Wert
promote spiny drift.
Uniformly apply recommended amount of PLATEAU hebicide, using enough
wain[ volume to provide adequate coverage of target area or foliages include an
adjuvant in We spiny solution (see "SPRAY AD)INANTS FOR POSTEMER-
GENCE APPLICATIONS" section). A foam reducing agent may be added at
the recommended rote, if needed. Aerial applicatlon to target spemes growing
under We canopy of trees and brash may not receive sufficient spiny coverage for
effective wntrol. For weed species with s recommended fall application Inning
(see "SPECIAL WEED CONTROL" section), delaying the aerial application
until trees and brush have dropped their leaves can improve weed control and
reduce the Potential for tree and brush injury (sec "TOLERANCE OF TREES
AND BRUSH TO PLATEAU HERBICIDE" section).
£MPORTANT: Thoroughly clean application equipment, including landing gear,
immediately after use of Wrs product. Prolmged exposure of Wts product to
uncoated steel (except stainless steel) surfaces may result m wrrosion and failure
of the exposed part. The maintenance of an organic coating (pain[) may proven[
corrosion.
Avoid overlaps when spraying.
SPRAY ADJUVANTS FOR POSTEMERGENCE APPLICATIONS
Postemergence applications of PLATEAU herbicide require a spiny adjuvant.
See "SPECIAL WEED CONTROL" section. Due to variations m surfactant
contents, ceirain surfactants containing high amounts of alcohols, paraffin baud
peuroleum oils, and other compounds which can increase phytotoxiciry to desimbie
vegemtion, it is recommended to choose a low phytoioxic surfactant.
ell rights reserved.
