<br />WILDLIFE INFORMATION <br />In conjunction with the information and advise furnished by Mr. Jack <br />Vayhinger, of the Colorado Division of Wildlife. at Colorado Springs on <br />February 21, 1979, the following wildlife information is presented. <br />The Dorchester No. 1 Mine is an underground coal mine. located on <br />fee land in Sec. 30, T. 20 S., R. 69 W., and is expected to operate about <br />20 years. <br />Wildlife species of the area include: <br />Mule Deer Scaled Quail <br />Black Bear Pinon Jay <br />Mountain Lion Turkey <br />Coyote Golden Eagle <br />Bobcat Redtailed Hawk <br />Red Fox Rough-legged Hawk <br />Gray Fox Sparrow Hawk <br />Long Tailed Weasel Band Tailed Pigeon <br />Elk Mourning Dove <br />Beaver Crow <br />Badger Raven <br />Striped Skunk Magpie <br />Cotton Tail Rabbit Turkey Vulture <br />None of the wildlife species shown on the above list are on the <br />endangered species list. Although there is a possibility that the Pere- <br />Brine Falcon may migrate through the general area, Mr. Vayhinger feels <br />a negative impact to the possible migratory route will not be significant. <br />Mr. Yayhinger's assessment of the situation is that, "Because of the <br />small surface area affected and the previous mining activity in the area, <br />negative wildlife impacts will not be significant." <br />Some displacement of the species in the affected areas into adjacent <br /> <br />
