<br />1 <br /> DESCRIPTION <br /> The Gunnison Ready Mix pit, located immediately West of the <br /> intersection of Tomichi Creek and Gold Basin Road in Gunnison <br />' County, is a basically square pit area. This area is surrounded <br /> by Tomichi Creek on the South, hayfields on the West and the <br />' l <br />i Mi <br />N <br />th <br />ildi <br />f G <br />R <br />d <br />th <br />b <br />i <br /> commerc <br />a or <br />. <br />ea <br />y <br />x on <br />e <br />ngs o <br />unn <br />son <br />u <br /> Vegetation in this area is almost non-existant, being limited to <br /> early succe ssion plants and a few wild willows on the South and <br /> h <br />f <br />l <br /> West. The is poor <br />land is extremely rocky and t <br />e top soi <br />or <br />' vegetation. <br />' Samples of wildlife were taken from the surrounding areas to predict <br /> the array o f species capable of occupying the land and water in <br /> <br /> this area. The following sites were sampled to obtain this data: <br /> SITE A The Gunnison Ready Mix pit area as described <br /> above, during the spring and fall months of 1975 <br />' <br /> and 1976. <br /> <br /> SITE B The French and Newberry Lond and Cattle Co. farm, <br />' a 280 acre hay field immediately South of the pit. <br />' The boundaries are Tomichi Creek on the North, <br /> Gold Basin Road on the East and Hartman Rocks <br />I on the South. <br /> <br /> <br />D....., 7Z ..r ~~ <br />
