• Topsoil replacement requirements were determined by multiplying
disturbance area acreages by required replacement thicknesses. All other
material volumes were taken from the existing bond estimate.
CALCULATION OF EQUIPMENT PRODUCTIVITIES
Equipment productivities where given were taken from the existing bond
estimate. If the equipment productivities were not given, EFCI calculated
them using methods and guidelines from the "Caterpillar Performance
Handbook, Edition 18". All productivities were adjusted to reflect
equipment utilization.
DETERMINATION OF EQUIPMENT HOURS
Calculation of equipment hours required to complete each reclamation
function involved dividing material handling volumes by adjusted
productivity rates.
DEVELOPMENT OF EQUIPMENT. LABOR, DEMOLITION AND REVEGETATION UNIT COSTS
All unit costs utilized in preparation of the bonding cost estimate have
been obtained from published reference sources, previous bond estimates,
or past mining experience. The objective in developing specific cost
information has been to identify costs which are representative of those
which would actually be incurred for the contemplated reclamation work at
this site.
All equipment rental costs were obtained from Wagner Equipment Co. Rental
Rates. Equipment operating costs were obtained from the CRG. Both rental
and operating costs are based on a one (1) shift per day operating
schedule.
Most of the unit costs for facilities demolition were obtained from the
MCD. All other unit costs either came from the existing bond estimate or
were based on EFCI's past mining and reclamation experience.
Unit costs for riprap and revegetation came from the existing bond
4
