• 2.05.4 Reclewation Plan (continued)
Reclawation activities will cowwsnce as soon as the initial
sequence of topsoil rewoval, overburden rewoval, and coal wining
as described on page 2 of 2.05.3(5) occurs. First, the stacked
overburden will be returned to the pit area, and additional coal
will be uncovered with the dragline back casting into the wined
out portion of the pit. A large area will be available for fill
in the initial cut as the coal occurs on a 1 1 or less
stripping ratio. Where topsoil rewoval is required overlying
the underground workings the drag line will perforw this task
until such tiwe sufficient cover is over the workings to support
equipwent. A dozer working in close harwony with the drag line
can flatten the spoil quickly for new topsoil to bs wovesd
• directly onto it.
The slops of the sediwsnt pond can be prepared iwwsdiatsly
for re-seeding following replacewsnt of topsoil as soon as cow-
struction is cowpleted. Seeding will bs dons at the first
opportunity possible. At the cowplstion of the Phase 1 wining
operation the disturbed pit are area is expected to be fully
rs-claiwed and seeded within one year after wining ceases. The
Phase 2 operation will follow with a siwilar tiwe schedule of
reclawation and seeding, and included within this tiws fracas
will bs the reclawation of the coal stockpile areas.
Additional discussion of reclawation has been inserted in
2.05.3 (1) 8 (2), and a reference is wads to that section.
•
2
