To comply with section 7(c) of the endangered Species Act of 1913, as amended, Federal agencies or their designees are required to obtain from the Service information concerning any species or critical habitat, listed or proposed to be listed, which nay be present in the area of a Proposed construction project. We are furnishing you the fallowing list of species which may be present in the concerned area: FEDERAL LISTED SPECIES Colorado squawfish Ptychocheilus Lucius Razorback sucker Xyrauchen tetanus Humpback chub Gila cypha Bonytail Gila e7egans Bald eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus Peregrine falcon Falco peregrines Critical habitat has been proposed for the Colorado squawfish, humpback chub, banytafl, and razorback s~Ock9r wtthin the loD-year flnndplain in portions of their historic range (58 FR 6578). Destruction or adverse modification of critical habitat is defined in 50 f.FR 402.02 as a direct or indirect alteration that appreciably diminishes the value of critical habitat for both the survival and recovery of a listed species. The lead Federal aganry for Endangered Species Act (ESA) section 7 consultation should review their proposed Federal action and determine if the action would affect any listed species. If the determination is "may affect" for listed species, the Federal agency must request in writing formal consultation from our office.
