Rule 1: Permits
• Reclamation of Facilities
Section 2.05.3 describes the project facilities. These facilities will be removed and reclaimed at
the end of the life of the mines.
All buildings and other structures will be removed. Mechanical equipment, scrap iron, and other
metal portions of structures will be salvaged for reuse where possible. Surface concrete pads and
foundations will be broken up and the material used as a fill. Concrete footings greater than 3-
feet below the final graded surface will be buried in-place. Remaining excavations will be
backfilled to post-mining topography consistent with pre-mining topography. Previously
salvaged subsoil and topsoil will be respread. A cost estimate for facilities reclamation is
presented in Section 3.0.
Reclamation of Ponds
All sediment ponds are proposed for permanent retention based on the landowner's wishes. A
demonstration to show compliance with Rule 4.05.9(1) will be filed at the time of Phase 2 bond
release.
•
•
Page30562a Rule2Permin (May.102)doc 2.OS-62a (Revised 5-1-02)
