eh <br />ESPEY, HUSTON 4 ASSOCIhTES, INC. <br />3.2.1.4 Silas Loam, 0 to 8 Percent Slopes (X7) <br />The Silas Series is a member of the fine-loamy, mixed Cumulic <br />Cryoborolls. Soils of this series are deep and well drained. These soils have formed <br />in mixed alluvium, mainly materials weathered from sandstone and marlstone. They <br />occupy mountain valley bottoms at elevations of 7,300 to 8,500 feet. The average <br />annual precipitation is about 20 inches, average annual air temperature is about <br />40°F, and average frost-free season is less than 75 days. <br />3.2.1.5 Shawn Loam, 3 to 8 Percent Slope (52C) <br />The soils of this series are deep and well drained. The Shawn Series is a <br />member of the fine-loamy mixed Pachic Haploborolls. These soils have formed in <br />alluvium and collucium of mixed sources. The unit occupies the lower pazts of <br />alluvial fans, stream terraces and concave drainage ways at elevations of 6,000 to <br />• 7,200 feet. The average annual precipitation is about 15 inches; average annual air <br />temperature is about 43°F and average frost-free period is 80 to 105 days. <br /> <br />I-51 <br />
