The mean annual precipitation is about 18 inches and the mean <br />annual air temperature is about 40oF. <br />Drainage and Permeability: The soils aze well drained. <br />3.1.18 Zoltay Series <br />The Zoltay series consists of deep soils that formed in mixed colluvial- <br />alluvial materials. <br />• Typical Pedon: Zoltay soils consist of clay loam, with 1 to 25 percent <br />slopes. <br />Ap 0 to 9 inches; dazk grayish brown (10YR4/2) light clay loam, very <br />dazk grayish brown (10YR3/2) moist; moderate medium subangulaz <br />blocky and fine granulaz structure; slightly hazd, friable, slightly <br />sticky and slightly plastic; common roots; mildly alkaline; clear <br />smooth boundazy. (7 to 10 inches thick) <br />B1 9 to 12 inches; dazk grayish brown (10YR4/2) clay loam, very dazk <br />grayish brown (10YR3/2) moist; moderate medium subangulaz <br />blocky structure; slightly hazd, friable, slightly sticky and slightly <br />plastic; few very fine tubulaz pores; common roots; few thin clay <br />films on ped faces; 0 to 10 percent rock fragments; moderately <br />alkaline; clear smooth boundary.
