Leaps soils lack bedrock at depths of less than <br />40 inches, are noncalcazeous, have mollic epipedons, and have mean <br />summer soil temperatures colder than 59°F. <br />Drainage and Permeability: Dollard soils aze well drained with medium <br />to rapid runoff and slow permeability. <br />Use and Vegetation: These soils are used principally as native pasture- <br />land or for recreational purposes. Native vegetation is mainly western <br />wheatgrass, bluegrass and weeds. <br />Distribution and Extent: The series aze of small extent in mountainous <br />azeas of central Colorado. <br />Series Established: The series was established in Gunnison County, <br />• Colorado in 1974. <br />3.1.6 Jerry Series <br />The Jerry series consists of deep soils that formed in alluvial fan <br />sediments mainly from sandstone and shale. <br />Taxonomic Class: The Jerry soils aze fine, montmorillonitic Argic <br />Cryoborolls. <br />i <br />Typical Pedon: Jerry soils consist of loam in rangeland. (Colors aze for <br />dry soil unless otherwise noted.) <br />Al 0 to 6 inches; dazk gray (10YR4/1) loam, black (10YR2/1) moist; <br />moderate fine granulaz structure; soft, very friable, neutral; <br />gradual smooth boundary.
