The Mining Plan Map, will show in more detail the topography and the gravel
deposits. However, the nature of this deposit is a very gravelly sand material
used for construction aggregates, such as road base, and structural fill materials
as the main products. The overburden is about 1 ft. in depth, and the gravel
deposit is a mining of 6 ft. deep. Overburden will either be used in the product
mix or used for backfilling the pit. There are no secondary commodities to be
mined or extracted on this site.
As stated above, gravel is the main commodity to be mined at the Cucharas Pit,
and there are no other commodities to be mined.
n. The proposed mining permit is being requested for the intent of mining 1 1/2"
road base. The raw material will be excavated with afront-end loader, it will
then be moved to a conveyer, crushed, screened and stockpiled. A reserve of
specification aggregates will be created on the site as mining progresses. Once
there is an adequate supply, the processing plant will be moved to another site
and the processed material will be removed as needed. The processed material
will then be taken to either a road project.
