Mining Plan
It is anticipated that mining
e dewatering protean to lower
that approximately 20 feet of
Excavation will be eccompliah
loaders, hydrelic excevetora,
type equipment.
will be accomplished using
the ground water level such ,~~
materinl ten be removed. 4
ed using rubber-tired i~
draglines and or dredge
The mining shall proceed Eton the East end of the pit in
e westerly direction. Crushers end other processing
equipment will be moved ao ea to provide the least
possible haul of mnteriela to end from the equipment.
Stockpile sltea will also move ea the Wining progresses
so ea tc minimize the handling costa.
Water removed iron the excevntion shall be pumped into
the remains of the old river channel which will form e
natural detention and settling pond. The water will
follow the remainder of the old channel to the Arkenaes ~
River. A dewatering well permit end n dlacherge pernlt J
have been applied for with the npproprinte egenciea.
It is anticipated that between one end two ecrea per year
will be ectlvily mined to provide the expected
requirements of the operation. These areea of major ~4N¢
diaturbence will be mined ns de ep ea practicable. The ry °~' 3H.IJ~
resulting completed excevetiona will be eloped on d
, 7 S
epproximetely a 2:1 elope to n level approximately flue P~¢~ ,~l,f°i
'
feet below normal gr ound water line. From that point to p'n`~
ground level will be eloped on epprox imetely a 3:1 elope.
Approximately 2 to 4
used et any one time
that enough materiel
at leant 30 yearn.
acres within the pit eree will be
for etockpilea. It la anticipated
exiata within the pit eree to lest
It is anticipated that Wining will progress leaving a
serlea of ponds aepereted by dikes wide enough to
eccomidete vehicular traffic. Water will be purchased to
augment the loss to the basin ea a result of evaporation
from these ponds. It is now eatimeted that between
30,000 end 70,000 cubic yards of materiel will be
required each year from this pit to produce concrete
aggregates.
Actual mining operations eill probably only be conducted
for two months out of the yenr. Thla activity will
probably be conducted when the River is at low stage.
Processing of the excavated meterlela will take
approximately two months. Proceaaingmny or may not be
done during the excavation period depending on the
eveilebility of equipment end the weather conditions.
