United States Department of the Interior
OFFICE OF SURFACI; ~11NING
Reclamation and F,nforcement
BROOkS TOti~'ERS
1020 ISTII STREET
DEN\'ER, COLOR.\DO FO202
APR y 1s~o
MEMORANDUM
To: Dennis Winterringer, I6E
From: Jerry D. Cavette, TAAR ~/lµ{
Subject: Segregation of Soil HoriC/zonsJat Trapper `tine
I have reviewed the additional raa[erial dated March 27, 1980, you received
from Utah International.
The soils that I originally felt would need to have the horizons segregated,
make up only a very s~aall portion (10-15 acres) of the area. Also, as
indicated in the draft soil survey report, these particular soils will not be
salvaged for topsoil.
As I indicated in the earlier memo, the other soils look suitable, chemically
'~ and physically, :or topsoil. Based on these facts, I see n~ -^^c :^ fc:
segregation of the A and B horizons. The evaluation of the topsoil resources
~ presented by Utah International is reasonable and I agree with their
conclusions and topsoil handling procedures.
~Jj~
