Sowards
Qtah international, Inc.
Trapper Mine
Box 187
CYaiq, Colorado 81625
Dear Wayne:
Jerry Gavette, Soil Scientist for OSP-t's Biological and Ecological Sciences
Branch, has reviewed the information you submitted concerning mixing of the
A and H horizon soils at the Trapper Mine. He did not note any chemical
properties of the B horizon that would make mixing of the A and B horizons
undesirable, but he did comment that some of the series are classified in
the fine family ()35~ clay), which indicates the subsoil could be quite
clayey and should possibly be segregated from the lighter textured surface
horizons.
Before making a final decision on the matter he would like to review a
soils map and get an indication of soil stripping depths. Please send this
informatio^ along with a photocopy of the soil handling section of your
mine plan to me so that a prompt deternination can be made.
Sincerely,
~~~ U
Dennis Winterringer
Reclamation Specialist
•
-r•++~r. r--m~•-..
7~
