a
._ i
•
Mr. Jim Dillie
February 8, 1993
Page Two
Exhibit "E", Reclamation Plan, seedbed and soil preparation will
be in accordance with the Soil Conservation Service recommenda-
tions, and include clean-tilling and firming after topsoil has
been applied. The weed control method recommended by the Soil
Conservation Service is chemical, with specific details to be
provided by them when application is needed.
Exhibit "F" Map 1, Drainage Contour Plan With Final Reclamation
Contours, shows the final contour changes on the pit walls and
the drainage and sediment control measures. The contours on the
north and east walls have been changed to be more uniform and to
blend with the existing topography. Drainage and sediment
control structures have been added to the map as part of the
drainage control plan approved by E1 Paso County.
Exhibit "F" Map 2, Reclamation Plan Map Final Contours, shows the
revised final contours on the pit walls along the north and east
sides.
Copies of the Notices and Performance Warranty are also enclosed
per your request.
I believe that this response will address the concerns raised in
your letter to me and that you will accept these changes to the
Mining Permit Application as an improvement to our mining and
reclamation plan. I would have responded to your letter sooner,
but, as we discussed, I thought it would be best to wait for
final approval from E1 Paso County. Please contact Vic Eklund or
me at 719-636-5681 if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Phili Saletta P.E.
p ,
Acting Supervising Resource Engineer
Resources & Planning Division
jkn
Enclosures
c: Edward W.
