Combinations of <br />stockwater development, fencing, and deferred grazing will help get better <br />livestock distribution and maintain range condition. <br />Wildlife such as mule deer, cottontail rabbit, squirrels, and various <br />bird species utilize this soil. Rangeland and wooded areas provide food, <br />shelter, and nesting areas for wildlife. Management for wildlife should in- <br />clude protection from overgrazing, maintenance of areas with pinon and juniper <br />trees, and protection from unplanned fires. <br />Depth to bedrock, steep slopes and high shrink-swell are the primary <br />limiting soil features when planning for the construction of homes and other <br />community developments. The foundations of buildings must be designed to com- <br />pensate for the high shrink-swell feature of the Midway soils. These limita- <br />• tions must be considered in construction of leach fields and sewage lagoons. <br />• <br />
