•
4.05.6 Sedimentation Ponds
A small sedimentation pond will be constructed as close as practicable
to the area of Mt. Harris operations. The designed plans and
specifications for the sedimentation pond are presented in Section
2.05.6.
4.05.7 Discharoe Structures
The planned drainage and sediment control plan for the Mt. Harris Coal
Company is designed to prevent any discharges resulting from the
10-year, 24-hour precipitation event. Since no discharges will take
place, the requirements of this section are not applicable to Mt.
Harris.
4.05.8 Acid-Forming and Toxic-Forming Spoil
• No acid-forming or toxic-forming spoil material is found at the site.
4.05.9 Permanent and Temporary Impoundments
Because the post-operational land use will be for industrial purposes,
the embankment and sedimentation pond constructed at the Mt. Harris
facility will be left. The area is currently disturbed with coal
material; the embankment will ensure that no discharges can take place
either during or following operations. Details of this plan are set
forth in Section 2.05, Exhibit 7, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan,
and the Drainage and Sediment Control Plan (Map 7). Routine inspection,
during operation, of the embankment and sedimentation pond will be
conducted periodically as required. Maintenance procedures for the
embankment may include cutting of excess vegetation growth for the
purposes of facilitating inspections and repairs and will include
keeping the area free of debris. All combustible material other than
mulch or other material needed for erosion control will be kept from the
• berm embankment.
4.05-3
