EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />Agile Stone Systems, Inc. wntracted vbra-Tech Engineers to perform pre-blast structural inspections <br />prior to a vibration and airblast test for a proposed quarry outside of Parkdale, Freemont County, <br />Colorado. The pre-inspections were conducted to determine the existing conditions of residential <br />buildings and engineered structures in the vicinity of the proposed quarry. The goal of the vibration <br />and sirblast test was to evaluate the blast induced ground vibrations and air-home effects and compare <br />the test results to recommended criteria or applicable regulations governing structures, water wells, <br />pipelines and other underground swctiues located in the vicinity of the proposed quarry site. <br />The pre-blast inspections were conducted from October 15 through October 21, 1997. The goal of the <br />inspections was to include all structures within a mile of the proposed quarry. A total of nineteen pre- <br />_, <br />' ' blast inspections were completed. The inspections included residential stnuctures, buildings, bridges <br />and a state park recreational facility. <br />The ground vibration and air-borne effects test was conducted on October 21, 1997. The test hole was <br />detonated at 3:09 p.m. in the proposed granite quarry azea of the Agile Stone Systems property outside <br />of Parkdale, Freemont County, Colorado. The test shot was monitored by instrumentation provided <br />by Ybra-Tech Engineers and is the basis for this report. <br />.~ <br />€~; <br /> <br />
