Thank you for the correction and Midas Mining Company Inc.
(MMC) has corrected our map copy to scale, 1:24,000.
Exhibit B - Site Description (Rule 6.3.2)
2. Enclosed information from Mr. John Scott, Natural Resource
Conservation Service, Gunnison, Colorado regarding classification
of R0, Rock Outcrop and RS, Rock Slide.
Exhibit C - Mining Plan (Rule 6.3.3) No. 3
MMC has noted your concerns regarding the old waste rock pile and
our plan to use this rock to surface Permitted BLM access road.
MMC will judiciously address your concerns and at no time will MMC
use this waste rock on drainage areas. Prior to removal MMC will
notify your office and .give a description of the rock, range of
size, volume needed and coloration of the waste rock.
4. Mr. Les Charles, MMC mine superintendent, has mined in many
of the mines in Western Hinsdale County in the viaizity of the Ophir
Lode. His experience indicates that through careful supervision
the ore pile can be shaped at the time the ore cars are dumped.
Using these technics a slope can be controlled to very close to a
3:1 ratio. This will allow MMC to cover the ore pile as it is
developed. If additional shaping is needed MMC will use a cat.
The new location for ore storage area provides for approximately
50 foot buffer strip all along Red Cloud Creek. The first few years
of mining should produce about 7,000 tons of ore per year and this
will be controlled by weather conditions.
5. The ore stock pile area is protected by Red Cloud Creek from
southern upland drainage, as Red Cloud travels almost parallel to
the ore stock pile area. The raised road bed leading to the
unpatented claims also is parallel to the ore storage. The uphill
side of the road will serve as a berm for any moisture drainage
continued page 2
Wayne R Ginty, President
Les Charles, Irfine Su~amcmdmt
