EXHIBIT "D"
15) EXHIBIT "D" -Rule 6.3.4(b)
Backslopes on the north and southeast will be tinished at 3H:1 V, and the pit floor will daylight on
[he west. Mining will be done into the pit face until the point on the pit floor that will be the toe of
the 3H: I V slope is reached. Mining will [hen be done at the proposed backslope of 3H:1 V. This
eliminates a~~y backsloping and excess moving of material. The pit floor will be left basically level.
Since this is now to be a dry pit, there is no pond or water involvement.
16) EXHIBIT "D" -Rule 6.3.4(c)
Items (i) through (vi) are addressed as follows:
(i) The plant growth medium (topsoil) will be replaced at an average depth of 8". It is of sufficient
quality to suppoR the proposed reseeding, as evidenced by the surrounding area plan[ growth.
(ii) with the pit layout, it is probable that reseeding will not be able to occur until mining is complete.
Mining will start at the north and move to the southeast of the site. Traffic from south to north
makes seeding impractical. The backslopes may be seeded aRer an area of sufficient size is
developed, but this could be 5 years or more.
(iii) The following SCS recommended seed mix will be used.
Western wheatgrass 2.0 PLS/A
Needle & thread I.~
Crested wheat I.0 "
Luna Pubescent wheatgrass 1.8 "
Arizona fescue 0.5 "
(iv) Grass seed will be planted with a seed drill. If the seed is broadcast, the rate will be doubled,
but it is highly unlikely that this method will be used.
(v) 4000# of straw mulch per acre will be applied, and will be crimped in with a disc set straight.
(vi) No shrubs or trees will be planted, as this is to be reclaimed as rangeland to blend in with
surrounding grazing area.
17) EXHIBIT "D" -Rule 6.3.4(f1
A total of 9.9 total acres will be disturbed with the 1.00 acre road access lefr unreclaimed for future
ranch use.
