OPliRA'PIOd PLAri •
The Ciruela Canyou processing waste pile will have a final design
capacity of 101,000 cy. Tire total surface area of the pile has be err
estimated to be 4.yo acres. There is "29,070 cy of existing processing
waste. hstirnated proauction from the Golden Cagle Kline is b0U,000 tpy for
the permit term. Approximately .02 cy of processing wastes are produced per
ton of production yielding 1b;000 cy of processing waste per year. Tne pile
life is expected to oe 4.5 years.
Initial site construction xill be to establish drainage as shown on
Figure 7. Topsoil will be stripped from Areas 1 (nearest to Golden Eagle
slope entry), 2 and 3. Topsoil will be placed in the topsoil pile and
staoilized.
The existing pile will then be pushed and/or hauled for construction of
the first bench (contour 7120'). Prior to the pile reaching the 7140'
bench, topsoil and subsoil will be removed from Area 1 (nearest to the .
proposed topsoil pile). As pile development reaches successive benches,
subsoil will be removed from Area 1 (nearest to Golden Eagle slope entry]
and Area 4.
In these instances, coal processing waste will oe pushed over subsoil
prior to subsoil removal. WFC will make every effort to push processing
xaste off subsoil pr: •r to salvaging and stockpiling or immediate
redistribution. A 25 ft Duffer will be maintained between undisturoed cuts
and coal processing waste.
Folloxing is a summary of cut volumes to reclaim the pile.
Topsoil and Subsoil Volumes
Area Area (ft2) Salvsge Depth (ft) Total (yd3)
1 ti0,d0U rs.d3 1y,dd4
~ 55,200 0.50 ~,~22
3 72,uoo ~.o0 2;ao7
4 24,000 d.-5 7,d4z9
2 j1'So2 yd3
Volume required = 4.9o acres x v ft x 43,5tiU ft /acre x 1 yd /27 ft = .
32,OOd yd
-t7-
