2-33
• 2.4.4.1 Surface Water Impact
The refuse disposal site will be constructed in accordance with
the appropriate CMLR regulations. These regulations include
implementation of necessary measures to minimize detrimental
contamination of surface water.
The configuration of the pile in relationship with the natural
landform is such that nearly all surface water flows not
originating within the boundaries of the pile will flow away form
the pile and not contribute to flows in the diversion ditches.
The minor amounts of surface water not originating on the refuse
pile that does contribute to diversion ditch flows will be
• diverted around the structure and treated at the sediment pond
along with the flows from the pile. Diversion ditches will be
sized to pass the 100-year precipitation event. Table 4.2-15
shows the discharges resulting from a 10-year event at several
locations along the undisturbed watershed.
Changes in the hydrologic regime of the small ephemeral watershed
in which the refuse pile is to be located should have very little
effect on the East Salt Creek watershed. Additional sediment
contributions to East Salt Creek from small areas not controlled
by sediment ponds will be minimal and. as compared to the total
sediment load in East Salt Creek. virtually undeterminable.

2/l6/89
