2-2
The above permits will be received from the Colorado Department
of Health, Air and Water Divisions.
2.2 LIFE OF FACILITY
The facilities described in this application will have a useful
life corresponding with the life of mine projected for the
Munger Canyon Mine. Present plans call for mining Salt Creek's
reserves east of State Highway 139 during a 30 year period.
Any change in anticipated production quotas or development
of those reserves west of Highway 139 could extend the life
of the facility to beyond 30 years.
Through incorporation by revision to the Munger Canyon permit
(C-020-81), it is assumed that the permit term associated with
the central facilities described herein will become the same
as under the Munger Canyon Mine 5-year permit term.
2.3 CENTRAL FACILITIES AREA OPERATIONS
• The central facilities area will eventually serve as the main
staging area for all of Salt Creek's mines. All men and material
going to the mines as well as all products shipped from the
mines will pass through the central facilities.
/ 2.3.1 Buildings and Other Structures
Truck Scales
Though a rail loadout is planned, a set of truck scales will
be installed to weigh any trucks hauling coal from the mines.
These scales will also be used to weigh bulk materials coming
~ into the mines.
i
Main Office Building
The main office building will contain general offices, lab
and training center. Physical restrictions at the mines make
location of this building at either mine impractical. The
main office is not expected to exceed 100 feet square and will
• be located as shown on Figure 2.2-1S.
~-yS
