The following issues must be resolved before the
Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) may consider approving your
application.
In order, a5 required by Rule 6.4 of the Construction Materials
Rules and Regulations, they are:
A) Exhibit C, Mining Plan Map, and Exhibit F, Reclamation Plan
Map:
1) The outlets and flow directions of the three creeks
crossing the site (Whetstone, Vendette, Maryland) are not
included on the maps. Neither are the dikes described in
Exhibit E (Reclamation Plan). Please include these on
the maps. Provide typical cross sections and minimum
setback information for the dikes that will be left to
convey the three creeks across the affected area. The
Division assumes these creeks are passed under the
highway via existing culverts. Are the creeks also
passed under the highway-side ditch mentioned in the
application?
2) The location of the standpipe in Mining Cell 1 is not
included, nor the direction in which it will discharge
into either Whetstone Creek or Mining Cell 5. Please
include it.
3) The individual final areas of the lakes are not
included on either the maps, or in Exhibit E (Reclamation
Plan). Estimates of the lake areas and the Mining Cell
areas must be included.
