EXHIBIT "B" <br />NOV 0 7 2006 <br />DivM'n ng and Safeiy n <br />Site Description <br />6.3.2 The Site Description for the Morgan Gravel Pit is as follows <br />(Please also see Site-Pre-mining Map): <br />(a} The NRGS was notified of this proposed mining operation and gave fhe <br />following statement and we have included their report in this <br />application. "The plant community of the gravel pit area is a mix of <br />grasses and forbs primarily with some shrub species. Grasses <br />account for 85-90% of the plant community while shrubs and forbs <br />make up the balance. The grasses present on this site include <br />sideoats grams, western wheatgrass, blue grams, little bluestem, big <br />bluestem, and needle-and-thread. Forbs and shrubs community <br />occurring are: bush buckwheat, snakeweed, Indian paintbrush, prairie <br />clover, and other assorted forbs can be present." The elevation is <br />approximately 7200 feet above sea level. The climate is semi-arid with <br />annual precipitation average of between 12-16 inches with 60-70% <br />falling between March and September. The optimum growing season <br />for native plants is early spring and summer. <br />(b) There is one permanent man-made structure within 200 feet. <br />The ranch fence "on the Westside of the permit boundary and the <br />fence on the south. The fence location may be seen on the <br />Pre-mining map in Exhibit "E". <br />(c) The Rocky Flat Ditch is located approximately 250 feet southeast of <br />the permit area. Stormwater will be contained within the pitarea so <br />no Stormwater will enter the Rocky Flat Ditch. Do to its distance <br />form the operation, no geo technical problems are anticipated. <br />(d) The Division of Wildlife has been notified and their responds has <br />been included in this application. The Division of Wildlife does not <br />see any significant impacts on this site for wildlife. <br />
