i •
any material between the soil you will salvage and the minable gypsum that will be considered
waste, such as decomposed gypsum?
4. You mention a bench type configuration of the gypsum deposit. Will you be extracting the
gypsum and creating a benched configuration? If so, describe the benched mining in this
exhibit and show it on your mining plan map or in a separate drawing.
5. Will extraction take place to the germit boundaries? If not, show the location of all extraction.
6. You mentioned that some areas have been previously disturbed. Show on your mining plan
map the boundaryls between previously disturbed areas and undisturbed areas.
You state that any disturbances of permitted azea will be less than two (2) acres at any one time.
Does this include areas that aze under some stage of reclamation but not yet released of
reclamation responsibility by the state? If so please explain.
8. Will you be required by the landowner (State Land Board) to reclaim the access road? Will the
owner require the road to remain to access other property? Rule 6.3.3 requires that improved
roads be included as part of the permitted acreage. You scat that you will add road-base to
access road and install a culvert. Will you regrade the road before applying road base? Where
will the culvert be installed? What size culvert will be installed?. How will the culvert be used
to control stormwater tunoff? Your Exhibit L states that the road has deteriorated beyond use.
If you will upgrade it enough to use it, it should be added to the permit area. Either add the
road to the permit area or demonstrate to the Division why it is not necessary to include it
9. It appears from the topo map of the site location that surface runoff will be intercepted by your
mining operation before it enters a creek to the southwest. Describe how you will minimize
disturbance to the surface water system. Include any plan for sediment containment and
stotmwater runoff control. Or, demonstrate to the Division that your operation will not
intercept surface water runoff (precipitation or snow melt) that will subsequently flow to the
creeks in the area.
0. Your plan states that some rip-rap could be used to control any additional erosion that the
mining might cause. Where and how will [he rip-rap be used? What size rip-rap will be used?
11. Describe how your surface mining will minimize disturbance to the hydrologic balance, prevent
offsite damage, and provide for a stable configuration of [he reclaimed area consistent with the
proposed future land use.
Exhibit D -Reclamation Plan
Describe the ratio of screening and crusher fines to soil and to manure to create the plant
growth medium.
2. Show on your mining plan map where fines and screens will be stockpiled for use to build a
plant growth medium.
-2-
