The inspection records an~copy of this Stormwater Management ~ (SWMP) should be
available at the site for inspections by the Colorado Department of Public Health and
Environment. The annual S WMP report should contain a summary description of the two
comprehensive inspection reports, and details of any revisions, as outlined in the permit
requirements.
4.5 Employee Training
The SWMP Administrator or designated training personnel shall review environmental and
safety procedures with all personnel as required by the Mining Safety and Health Administration.
This training session will be conducted within two weeks of beginning operations at this site, to
inform personnel of procedures to be followed so the operation is conducted in compliance with
all permits. Some of the topics which may be included aze:
Spill Prevention and Response
Good House Keeping Techniques
Material Management Procedures
Sediment and Erosion Prevention
Crew supervisors will be responsible for instructing those under their direction to implement the
SWMP so the conditions of the Stormwater Discharge Permit are achieved.
4.6 Testing and Control for Non-Stormwater Discharges
This site was evaluated for the presence of non-stormwater discharges during August, 1993. The
procedure used to evaluate the area for the presence of non-stormwater discharges consisted of
dry weather observations of the site. At that time there were no buildings or structures associated
with the potential mining operation at the site. There aze no mine adits or shafts known at this
site, or associated with this operation, therefore, there is no mine drainage.
No naturally occurring springs have been identified at this site. There aze no spoils piles at this
site. No sanitary facilities aze currently located here. There are no dewatering discharges at this
site and no structural conveyance systems for the stormwater discharges. Potential discharge
points observed included the perimeter of the site.
If any unauthorized sources of non-stormwater discharges aze noticed at the site, the SWMP
Administrator shall be notified immediately. The source and condition of the discharge will be
investigated. If the discharge is perceived to be a potential contaminant source to stormwater or
permitted process water (groundwater dewatering), the Administrator or designated personnel
shall notify the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
4
