Box 797 <br />Telluride, Colorado 81435 <br />(303)728-3403 <br />This site is undeveloped forest which will be used for aggregate extraction, and eventually for <br />developed homesites. State Highway 14S borders the property on the east. An abandoned <br />railroad grade, minus the tracks and ties, runs along the western border and is part of the site <br />access road. Drainage at the site is generally from east to west. There is an existing wetland <br />feature in the northeast comer of the site. <br />2.0 Description of Operation <br />This operation will be an aggregate extraction operation using dry mining techniques not <br />requiring dewatering of the site. Aggregate extraction will occur from the southwest to the <br />northeast. Portable screens and crashing equipment may be brought on-site to produce aggregate <br />for concrete, however, very little crushing will generally occur on-site. <br />A haul road will be constructed through the site and will remain after mining activities to allow <br />access to the proposed homesites. A portable office will at some point be set up in the southwest <br />comer of the site. <br />This site is not located in the floodway nor the floodplain of the Lake Fork of the San Miguel <br />River. No problems associated with sediment transport through the floodplain aze expected to <br />occur. Flood elevations in this azea aze not expected to be impacted by this operation. <br />Equipment used for the extraction and hauling of the aggregate will be stored on-site. Overhaul <br />equipment maintenance will not occur on site, however, daily maintenance may occur on-site. <br />
