<br />• Violation No. C-37-041 was issued September 22, 1987 by the CMLRD for the Golden Eagle 7,1ine. <br />The violation was because the operator was unable to secure professional post-construction certification. The <br />violation was abated by providing professional certification of construction. <br />Violation No. P81-1-21 was issued January 3, 1933 by the )\4issouri DNR for the Tri County Minc Cor <br />failure to submit surface water monitoring reports. The violation was abated because reports were submitted. <br />Violation No. P31-S-9 was issued January 12, 1983 by the Missouri DNR for the Tri County Mine. <br />The violation was issued because of failure to submit by January 1, 1988, the additional bond coverage for the <br />coal preparation area that would provide the required S10,000.00 per acre bonding. The violation was vacated <br />because the Missouri DNR did not establish the bonding rate for coal preparation areas. <br />Cessation Order No. C-88-003 was issued on January 22, 1983 by the CMLRD for the Golden Eagle <br />Tune. The violation was issued Cor mining beyond the permit boundary. The violation was abated by <br />submitting a technical revision to expand the boundary. <br />Cessation Order No. C-33-017 was issued on April 5, 1933 by the CMLRD for the Golden Eagle 1\1ine <br />for failure to maintain a support facility to protect the em•ironmental values. The violation was abated by <br />ceasing the use of chemical additives in the mine water system, as well as on-site investigations and monitoring <br />of river and mine water discharge. <br />Violation No. C-83-019 was issued April 6, 1988 by the CMLRD for failure to certify a sediment <br />control structure at the Golden Eagle Mine. The violation was abated by providing the Division H•ith the <br />required certification. <br />Cessation Order No. C-33-031 was issued June 9, 1988 by the CMLRD for conducting surface <br />• activities outside the permit area. The violation was abated by expanding the permit area. <br />Cessation Order No. G88-040 was issued July 26, 1933 by the CI.4LRD at the New Elk 1\line for <br />failure to maintain a support facility which resulted in a diesel spill. ~VFC conducted studies to evaluate the <br />level of contamination and implemented a remedial action program for abatement. <br />Violation No. C-88-044 was issued on October 14, 1933 by the CMLRD at the New Elk Mine Cor <br />failure to maintain a protected channel (Purga[oire River). The violation was terminated on November 16, <br />1988, after cleaning the affected area and installation of a drop structure to correct the drainage problem. <br />Violation No. P81-S-10 was issued on November 13, 1938 by the Missouri DNR a[ the Tri County <br />Mine for failure to prevent contributions of suspended solids to areas outside the permit area. The violation <br />was terminated on March 10, 1989, after disturbed areas were modified to control runoff. <br />Violation No. C-39-004 was issued on February 22, 1989 by the CMLRD at the New Elk Mine for <br />failure to maintain stable diversion channels on the Refuse Disposal Area. The violation was terminated on <br />June 8, 1989, after the submittal and approval of an updated operation plan for the area. <br />Violation No. C-89-027 was issued on October 24, 1939 by the CMLRD at the Canadian Strip Mine <br />for failure to post perimeter markers on the mine permit area. Theviolation was terminated on November 22, <br />1989, after the perimeter markers were installed. <br />Violation No. P82-36-6 was issued on February 5, 1990 by the Missouri DNR at the Tri County Mine <br />for failure to remove spoil material from reclaimed areas.
