Harris. The impacts or effects
to the environmental resources are very small or negligible primarily
due to the small size of the affected area for the Mt. Harris loadout
facility. Only 9.75 acres are in the permit area. It should be
emphasized that the Mt. Harris operation is not for a new loadout in
virgin country. The entire site has been previously disturbed by past
industrial uses associated with mining, crushing, tippling, power
generation, and company town activities; these activities pre-date the
Mt. Harris use of the property which began in 1978.
Since the site has been previously disturbed by activities before Mt.
• Harris and prior to the requirements for formal permit applications,
details of the original existing environmental resources prior to site
disturbance are not available except for areas adjacent to the disturbed
areas. The environmental resources adjacent to the disturbed area are
thought to be representative of the site specific affected area due to
its very small size. In addition, the area has been disturbed due to
its prior industrial use.
•
2.04-1
