Map unll: 58 Rago silt loam <br />Descriprion Category: SOI <br />The Rago soil is a deep, wall drained soil. It is formed in Ices. The surface layer is a <br />silt loam. The upper portion of the subsoil is a silty day. The lower part of the subsoil is <br />a silty clay loam. The substratum to a depth of 60 inches is a silt to <br />am. The Rago soils have slow permeability. The available water holding capacity is <br />high. Effective rooting depth is 60 inMes or more. Runoff is slow to ponded and the <br />erosion hazard due to wind is moderate. <br />Map unit: 75 Wages-Ascalon loams, 2 to 5 percent slopes <br />Description Cale~ory: SOI <br />This map unit is on rolling portions of the plains. This unit consists of 50 percent Wages <br />and 40 percent Ascalon soils. The components are intricately mixed not allowing <br />practical separation in the field. The Wages soil is a deep, well drained soil. It fo <br />rmed in reworked edian sediments from mixed sources. The surface is a loam. The <br />subsoil is a sandy clay loam. The substratum to a depth of 60 inches or more is a sandy <br />loam. This soil has a moderete permeability. The available water bottling capacity rs hi <br />gh. Roots penetrate to a depth of 60 inches or more. RunoR is medium and the erosion <br />hazard due to wind is severe. The Ascalon soil is a deep, well drained soil. It tormed in <br />revroriced eolian sediments from mixed materials. The surface is a loam. The subs <br />oil is a sandy clay loam. The subsWtum to a depth of 60 inches or more is a sandy <br />loam. This soil has a moderate permeability. The available water holding capacity is <br />high.
