Larsen Colorado, L.L.C, has reviewed the comment letters attached to your
correspondence and has no comment ar contest,
7. Larsen Colorado, L.L.C. will comply with the DBMS policies regarding the storage
of all petroleum and or other hazardous materials at the site. Larsen Colorado L.L.C.
will store the fuel lubricants and other products in a fuel storage mounted on a
Department of traasportation trailer with a containment as required by DBMS.
$. Larsen Colorado, L.L.C. anticipates stockpiling approximately 30,000 tons or 20,000
cubic yard of coastruction material on the site
9. Larsen Colorado, L.L.C, anticipates stockpiling 20,000 tons or 13,500 cubic yards of
topsoil on the site.
10. Larsen Colorado, L.L.C, provided the reclamation maps signed by a registered land
surveyor during the site visit of June 4, 2007
I I. The pinch point will be mitigated to be a smooth. round transition while erosion
protection such as check dams will be installed to prevent erosion in this area. In
addition during this time frame of mining, with the approval of the DBMS, we expect to
proceed with Phase II of the mine, eliminating this pinch point.
12, The area highlighted is not in the mining plea and therefore will not require
reclamation or re-vegetation.
13. Please see the enclosed drill log for the well located on the site. The static water
elevation is 130 feet below the well head which is at 6180. Therefore the static ground
water elevatioa is approximately 6050. The Mine Plan allows for mining to an elevation
of 6100. Based on this information the static ground water elevation is 50 feat below the
lowest mining elevation ensuring that ground water will not be encountered during the
mining process.
14, Larsen Colorado, L.L.C. is aware of the CDPS Stormwater Permit and the NPDES
Permit requirements. Larsen Colorado, L.L.C. will comply with the guidelines
established by theses permits as they apply to the Byzantine Quarries.
I5. Larsen Colorado, L.L,C. has reviewed the Geotechnical Stability Exhibit
Memorandum from Allen C. Sorenson. Larsen Colorado, L.L.C. will complete a
geotechnical report with the annual reclamation report providing updated geotechnical
observations, measurements and associated recommendations for quarry development to
provide a safe highwall at the time of reclamation.. In addition Larsen Colorado, L.L.C.
will prepare "a blasting report for each shot' and retain these documents for a minimum
of three years.
