General Reclamation Plan
Once this mining is completed, the subsoil and topsoil from the stockpiles will be replaced on the
mined area of Phase 2. Additional subsoil from the sediment sump dam will be used to regrade the
area around [he power poles to a mild slope (2.OH:1.OV). Assuming that mining starts in the sum-
mer of year 2000, the reclamation will commence in the spring of the year 2007. No backfilling of
the sideslopes will be needed to attain a 2.OH:1.OV slope, since the material will be excavated to this
slope during mining. The final post-mining land use is identical to its existing use of dryland graz-
ing. The worst case cost for reclamation of the site will occur when the Phase 2 has been mined out
but no topsoil or subsoil has been restored to [he area from the stockpiles. The Phase 1 area will
have been reclaimed and revegetated by this time. The stages of the reclamation plan and the worst
case reclamation costs are given below:
Task # Description Time (hrs) Cost
1 Spread subsoil on Phase 2 area from stockpile 51 $5,829
(130,680 cubic feet or 4,840 cy) Avg, haul dist =
440 feet @ +1% grade. Use D-8 w/universal
blade. Cost is $1.067/cy. See attached sheet.
2 Final grading of pond (300 cy) Use Cat D8 - 4 $456
$114/hr x 4 hrs)
3 Spread topsoil on Phase 2 area from stockpile 21 $2,400
(54,432 cubic feet or 2,016 cy) Avg. haul dist =
440 feet @ +1% grade. Use D-8 w/universal
blade Cost is $1.067/cy. See attached sheet.
4 Final grading and harrowing of topsoil(2016 cy @ 8 $766
$0.38/cy). All berms and ditches are removed for
this phase.
5 Seed, mulch, fertilize (3.1 acres@ $700/acre) 12 $2,170
Total Direct Costs 96 hrs $11,621
DMG Costs (14.5% x direct costs) $2,266
Total Bond Amount $13,887
Ferrero Pit 2/00 21
