Farnsworth
Mining Engineer
P. 0. Box E
Paonia, Colorado 81428
Dear Ms. Farnsworth;
u

Date: 7-8-81
According to the 1979 issue of Important Farmlands Map of Delta County Colorado
by SCS and CSU Exp. Sta., the proposed water tank site is not within a cropland
area. The truck scale and railroad extension sites are within irrigated land
areas, but are not within prime land or lands of national importance.
The Stevens gulch water tank site is on soils 32, Delson loam. Although the 32
soil classes at 1Ve 21 irrigated, this area is so located that it has not been
flood irrigated and has an extremely low potential for flood irrigation due to
the location, ground slope, rocky surface, state water rights and judication of
these water rights which would also make the ponding of such water for this site
an extremely unlikely possibility.
I trust this letter will help answer the questions presented in your letter of
7-7-81, copy attached. Please contact us if other data is needed.
Sencerely, ~ ~C
-t :v
A. J.
