A dosing tank shall be provided where the total filter azea exceeds 1,800 squaze feet. <br />The size of the dose, or the net capacity of the dosing tank, shall be at least seventy- <br />five (75%) percent of the volume of the distributors. <br />6.03 Wastewater Pond <br />A A wastewater pond, where permitted by the local board of health shall be designed <br />by a Registered Professional Engineer and may be used to provide an additional <br />degree of treatment following first stage treatment. The pond shall be designed for <br />a loading not to exceed 0.46 pounds ofBODs per 1,000 square feet of water surface <br />azea. Special design shall be required in each case in which non-domestic kinds of <br />individual sewage disposal system wastes will be received. <br />B. Maximum water depth in the pond shall not exceed three (3) feet. The inside slope <br />of the pond, dike or embanlanent sha[! not be steeper than 3: 1, (3 feet measured <br />6orizomally for each foot measured vertically). A center inlet shall be provided. <br />C. Unless four (4) feet of unsaturated soil exists beneath the bottom of the pond, said <br />pond shall be constructed in impervious soil or be sealed to prevent excess seepage <br />of wastewater. Only ponds exhibiting an exfiltrarion rate of 1 x l0a cm/sec. or less <br />shall be deemed adequate to prevent excess seepage. <br />D. Adequate safety protection shall be provided, such as fencing and signs, to protect <br />against personal injury. <br />E. Surface runoff shall be diverted away from the pond except where controlled by <br />design. <br />46 <br />
