> ,~ <br />2.06 Bedrock -the more or less solid undisturbed rock in place either at the surface or beneath <br />surficial deposits of gravel, sand, or soil or a consolidated rock formation of impervious <br />material which may exhibit jointed ,fractured, or deteriorated characteristics. <br />2.07 Building Sewer -that part of the piping of a drainage system which extends from the end of <br />the building drain and which receives the discharge of the building drain and conveys it to a <br />public sewer, private sewer, individual sewage disposal system, or other point of disposal. <br />2.08 Competent Technician - a person designated by the local health department who is able to <br />conduct and imetpret the results of percolation tests. <br />2.09 Composting Toilet - a unit which consists of a toilet seat and cover over a riser which <br />connects to a compartment or a vault that contains or will receive composting materials <br />sufficient to reduce waste by aerobic decomposition. <br />2.10 Constnrcted Wetland - a system which utilizes various wetland plants to provide secondary <br />treatment of wastewater through biological, physical, and chemical processes. <br />2.11 Department -the Colorado Department ofHeahh, aeated by Section 25-1-102, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes as amended. <br />2.12 Design Flow -the design flow is 150% of average daily flow as calculated by methods <br />recognized in this guideline. <br />2.13 Dispersal System - a system for the disposal of efrluem after final treatment in an individual <br />sewage disposal system by a method.which does not depend upon or utilize the treatment <br />capability of the sod. <br />2.14 Distribution Box - a watertight chatnber which receives waste water from a septic tank or <br />other standard treatment unit and from which e$luent is distributed evenly throughout the <br />absorption system. <br />2.15 Division -the division of administration of the local health department. <br />2.16 Dosing - a high rate periodic discharge into an absorption system. <br />2.17 Dosing Tank - a tank which provides for storage of waste water from a septic tank intended <br />to be fed to an absorption area at a high rate periodic discharge. <br />2.18 Drywell - a type of sod absorption system dependem upon suitable soil, 511ed with gravel and <br />wntaining a system of approved distnbution which is designed on the basis of sidewait and <br />bottom absorption area. <br />2.19 Effective Size of granulaz media is that size such that not more than 10% by weight of the <br />media is finer than the size specified. <br />2.20 Effluent -the liquid waste discharge from an individual sewage disposal system. <br />
