Attachment 12
page 3
Buffalo Stoue LLP
LETTER OF INTENT
June 17, 2007
Page 3
anticipated. Truck traffic to and from the quarry will be required to obey slow speed
limits, to help in reducing dust. Storm water will be detained in a sump on the west side of
the quarry and no impacts from erosion are anticipated. The visual impacts are mitigated by
the location of this mine. Quarrying will take place where the working face and mining
activities will not be visible from surrounding areas. Truck traffic will increase on the county
roads, but the limited number of residents and existing low use of the road will accommodate
the anticipated truck traffic. Gross truck weights will comply with load requirements.
06 Compliance:
This application is in compliance with Section II of the Las Animas County zoning
resolution. Each part of 3.06.02 is addressed in EXHIBIT 3 of this application along with
other information we feel is important for the commissioners to have when considering this
application. Maps supporting our request for a Conditional Use Permit to quarry Limestone
in Las Animas County are included. The closest adjoining owner is over 200 feet from the
quarry, so no notice letters will be required. If you have any questions or need more
information please call Florence Jackson at (719) 643-5435 and we will get you the
information as soon as possible.
• Respectfully Submitted:
Yocam Stone LLP
~'~3~-
Monty Yocam
Member/manager
Enclosures
cc File
Florence Jackson
•
