When we purchased ow property in 1994 we looked forwazd to living in a quiet
peaceful country setting. We did not dream that a gravel pit would be going in atl the way
azound us.
We would like to go on record as being opposed to this proposed permit.
There aze several errors that we have found in the reclamation plan.. # 1. The
homes and outbuildings aze not correctly located and there are no notations regazding
fences. #2. Rocky Road which is in the center of the residential area is incorrect
according to the scale on the map. #3. Only one drain file is idenliSed on this map. We
have located several other tiles. Some of them aze located within the proposed mining cells
(see attached map). Also see attached recorded agreement concerning the drain tile.
#4. The topography of the land in the upper portion of Cell Z can not be used for water
storage as shown on the map without building a 15 foot dike at the south end. We have
been told by Camas representatives that they will not build this above the present ground
level. If they do not plan on putting a high dike here, the top part of this lake can not have
any water in it and it will be nothing but a big hole. How can we feel comfortable with this
plan, when we know there aze several errors?
We have several permanent manmade structwes that aze located within the 200 feet
of the proposed mining operation. Camas has not approached us to make the required
agreement concerning damage to these structwes. To ow knowledge, they have not
obtained an engineering evaluation of these structwes either. We would hope that one or
the other these would be required before this proposed permit is considered for issuance.
