i

Mr. James C. Stevens
June 9, 1999
Page 2
Exhibit D - Section (e) - The berm around the permit area
will be removed when we start reclamation of the site.
Exhibit E - Section (c) - The berm on the southwest margin
of the permit was inadvertently left off. We have submitted
a revised copy of the Mining Plan Map for your records. We
have also placed a revised map with the Las Animas County
Clerk and Recorder's Office and Commissioners' Office.
Exhibit fi - Section (e) - The County is committed to salvage
6 to 8 inches of plant growth medium for stockpiling and to
be used later when reclamation starts. We will spread the
top soil in the same thickness. It is our understanding,
based on the reclamation recommendation made by the NRCS,
that no less than 4 inches nor more than 12 inches of top
soil be spread when reclamation starts. Since the 6 to 8
inches is within the limits recommended by the NRCS, this is
what we will utilize as a guideline.
Exhibit F - Refer to fixhibit C, Section (S)
We trust this answers all your questions and concerns and
will expect to have our approval for this gravel pit
shortly.
Sincerely,
~~ ~ C1~~
Robert A.
