Results of the SEDCAD model ash ow the storm runoff volume from the 10-year,
24-hour precipitation event to be 3.46 ~c-ft. The ponding area is designed to store 9.4
ac-ft of sediment. There will 6e no discharge through the emergency spillway during the
10-year, 24-hour storm event. In addition, there will be adequate freeboard (3 ft.) in
the emergency spillway to the top of embankment during the 25-year, 24-hour storm event.
Table 13-5-6 is a summary of the designed storage capacity.
TABLE 13-5-6
Design Storage Capacity Sunmary
Pond 009
Capacity
Elevation Stage (Ac.-Ft.)
Description
7073 0 0.00
7086.5 13.5 9.4
7087,0 14 9.9
7090 17 13.6
7091 18 15.1
7094 21 19.8
Bottom of Pond Excavation
100Po Sediment Storage, and
Elevation of Principal Spillway
10-Yr, 24-Hr. The principal
spillway will be nonclogging and will automatically dewater the ponding area to maintain
the design capacity for the runoff volume for a 10-year, 24-hour storm event. Any
additional dewatering required will be done by pumping the water out of the pond and using
it for either dust suppression or transporti rg it to another pond for treatment, or
discharging the water according to the approved Colorado NPDES permit.
Spillways
Sediment Pond 009 will have two separate spillways; a principal and an emergency, Please
•
•
•
13-8-8
