<br />Summary of the Weld County Planning Commission Meeting <br />January 19, 1982 <br />Page 4 <br />LOCATION: Five miles south and five miles east of the town of Keenesburg. <br />APPEARANCE: Drew Schletinga represented the Weld County Board of County <br />Commissioners who are petitioning for this request. He <br />stated the County intends to mine gravel and sands deposited <br />by Sand Creek in this area. He explained the County's plans <br />for the mining operation and the reclamation plans. <br />The Chairman called for discussion from the audience. There was none. <br />The Chairman asked the applicant if he had read the staff recommendations <br />regarding this request. He stated he had and has no objections to these <br />standards. <br />Bob Ehrlich asked if, since this request is from the Board of County Commis- <br />sioners, our recommendation for approval will be forwarded to the Board of <br />County Commissioners for their approval. Rod Allison, Planner, stated it <br />would not. In this instance, the action by the Planning Commission is <br />final. <br />MOTION <br />Wilber Wafel moved that the Planning Commission approved this request for <br />an open-cut-gravel mining operation along with the Development Standards <br />as outlined by the Department of Planning Services staff. tdotion seconded <br />by Bette Kountz. _ <br />Tape 78 - Side 2 <br />The Chairman called for discussion from the members of the Planning Commis- <br />sion. He presented sketches and reviewed his <br />plans to construct an indoor dog boarding facility. The land <br />the Planning Commission is concerned with is an agriculturally <br />zoned lot to the south. The kennel plans do not involve the <br />residential lot. He explained the highway access and the <br />frontage road. Currently, this lot is used as a horse boarding <br />facility. There are several little sheds on the lot, but he <br />
