fireweed
1 aster
ragweed
fringed sage
Louisianna sage
cheatgrass
prickley pear cactus
Indian ricegrass
red threeawn
hairy grams
sunflower
lupine
' yellow sweetclover.
Cottonwood seedlings and cattail occur on an approximate 1/10 acre area
in a depression created by prior excavation.
Item 2 - wildlife:
The Colorado Division of Wildlife responded to a wildlife questionnaire
for an approved 111 operation located on and within the south property
boundary as operated by Asphalt Paving. The response is from a 3/15/88
report. Due to the close proximity, similarity of sites, and recent
nature of the report, the report should be suitable for purposes of this
application as well.
Item 3 - Some monitoring wells occur within two hundred feet of the
permit area but will not be affected by the operation. It is our
' understanding that the wells occur to allow monitoring of groundwater
contamination resulting from waste disposal on the adjacent property.
This property has already been excavated under an existing 111
application for Heryl H. Rector, Deer Trail Sand ~ Gravel Co. The floor
of the area to be excavated under this application will not be excavated
below this area of concern in elevation.
The sole adjacent property owner is indicated in yellow on Exhibit E.
The property is owned by: Beryl H. Rector
P.O. Box 309
' Deer Trail, CO. 80105.
Cheryl Vashus, the landowner/operator under this application purchased
the area from Mr. Rector on 5!26!88 (see Deed under Exhibit F - Source
of Legal Right to Enter). The applicant will provide an aerial
photograph of the permit area, with the surveyed permit corners
panelled, in order to establish a visual reference of disturbed and
undisturbed areas as they exist prior to affecting lands under this
' permit. The intent is to distinguish specific soil and vegetation
limitations resulting from prior disturbance as it may affect
reclamation and site recovery, and to establish clarity of compliance
under this permit so that previously affected lands are not attributed
to this operation. The topographic map submitted in Exhibit E shows
existing contours where the limits of prior disturbance have been
approximated.

1
