?.03.8 Permit Term Information (continued)
[n the fall of 1992, the entire surface area of the mine vas reclaimed. All bui{dings,
foundations and coal waste were removed. All, areas were backfilled and graded and
topsoil was imported to the entire site covering the entire area with 6 inches of depth.
The area was broadcast seeded and mulched in the late fall of ]992.
Currently, the mine is in permanent cessation and only reclamation work will be
ongoing as needed until final bond release.
The Phase 1 bond release application was submitted in the fall of 1995. The site
inspection for the bond release occurred on October 24, 1995. Representatives of OSM,
the Division and the landowner were present. All parties were satisfied with the
reclamation.
Reclamation of the site is progressing well although the summer of 1994 saw a 100
day period without any precipitation, which hurt the young vegetation. As of the
summer of 1995, the vegetative growth was strengthening and various species were
visible in the reclaimed area.
• Revised for [vtid-Term Review 12/25/95 8.1
