The berm on the east side of <br />the mined area will be used for backfiIling and gradarg. The overbuden stockpile will be <br />spread over these graded slopes at a depth of approximately 8 inches and the topsoil <br />stockpile at a depth of 4 inches. Portions of these backfilling and grading operations <br />maybe wmpleted in conjtmction with the mining operations. Cow manure will be <br />distributed over the area at a rate of 2 tons per acre to provide needed organic material <br />and fertilizer. The seedbed will then be scarified at a depth of six inches to enhance the <br />cohesion of topsoil, manure, and overburden. <br />After the preparation of the seedbed, the area will be broadcasted sometime between <br />November 1 and May 31 with the enclosed Department of Agriculture Natural Resources <br />Conservation Service's recommended vegetative species at the following rates: <br />Blue grams .7516. pls/acre <br />Sideoats grams 2.25 ms. pls/acre <br />Little bluestem 1.751bs, pls/acre <br />Threadleaf sedge 1 lb. pls/acre <br />Needteandthread .75 Ib. pls/acre <br />Four-winged saltbrush .4 lb. pls/aae <br />Western wheatgrass .8 Ib. pls/acre <br />Winterfat 1 lb. pls/acre <br />No mulch will be used in the revegetation process. The area will be protected from <br />livestock grazing by electric fencing, as needed, to allow vegetation to become <br />established. Vegetation thickness will be consistent with the total yearly production <br />recommended by the Department of Agricuhure Natural Resources Conservation Service. <br />No ponds, streams or buildings will remain after reclamation. The pit access road <br />will be left as-is by request of the landowner(see enclosed written agreement). <br />
