6XliIBIT C - map
See attached location, USGS, and site maps.
BXHIBIT D -
Wildlife -
No significant amount of wildlife has been encountered during any
of the visits to the site. There are no known threatened or
endangered species in the area. A copy of this application is
being forwarded to the Colorado Division of Wildlife for their
review. Their comments will be forwarded upon receipt.
Water Resources -
The pit site is located in the Frenchman Creek. This is normally a
dry creek, flowing only in periods of heavy run-off. The creek
channel ranges close to a 100 feet in width. During periods of
heavy rainfall, the flow will enter and sweep the pit area, often
depositing more gravel, Because the sand and gravel at the bottom
of the creek allow rapid percolation, water will not stand more
than a few days at the most. The excavation will be such that
ground water elevations will not be encountered.
Vegetation -
There is little existing vegetation. What there is, is primarily
grasses and weeds. This vegetation is periodically destroyed when
heavy rainfall, and the resulting creek flooding, occurs.
